I got the game a few days ago and have logged a few hours so far and I have to say damn this game is awesome. They completely revamped the combat and made it more like Gears. The annoying inventory system is all but gone and the the sequences where you drive around nameless planets looking for rocks has been completely replaced. I do have a couple of gripes about the game though, first I have to say that I do miss customizing the weapons. Though the inventory system needed an overhaul as it was kind of confusing the customization was fun. I liked specing one weapon for the Geth and one weapon for living beings. The other is what replaces driving around a planet for rocks is almost as boring. Instead you move an incredibly slow courser around a planet looking for spikes on a graph to find minerals. They seem to make this mind numbing task integral to the game as well seeing as you are doing it to upgrade your ship to be able to fight the main baddies.Though with those 2 gripes the game is still head and shoulders above the first witch in itself is an amazing feat so I would definitely recommend this game to anyone who likes shooters and/or RPG's. Though no multiplayer but I can live without it.

I'm looking forward to getting this too. I decided to replay the original first with all the DLC before getting it tho.

It does a pretty good job of refreshing your memory though I did just beat the first game before I got ME2 so that may skew my perception a bit.

May have to get this although I didn't care for the first frustrating as hell for me since I'm not a big RPG fan although I loved Fable 2, but I'll give it a rent to see if I plunk the money down for it.

They scaled back the RPG elements quite a bit. In my opinion too much.
